More Party pic's

Here are some more pic's of my parents surprise party. (Thanks Beck, I stole them from your blog site, hee hee).

What cute kids!!

Here is a picture of my parents and all the grandkids. By August, there will be two more to add to the picture.

Happy 60th!

Happy 60th! We had such a fun weekend! For the past couple of months, me and my brothers and sisters have been planning a surprise 60th birthday party for my mom and dad. My dad's birthday is in April and my mom's in June, so we picked a date that was right in the middle. Anyway, everything finally came together this weekend. We surprised my parents by having them picked up in a hurst (is that how you spell it?) and had it drive them to the church, where we had a room decorated all in black with lots of food and pictures of them. The pictures were of them throughout their life and were so fun to look at. My dad said he had never even seen some of the pictures before (good job on the pictures Mel). Tons of people showed up, even freinds that they hadn't seen for over 30 years! My parents were in complete shock! Then the next day our family rented the rollerskating rink, which was soooo fun. Everyone skated, and I'm sure we all went home with bruises from falls, I did at least anyway, my butt is killing me! We met at my parents house after that where all of us kids had a little tirbute for them. We each thought up a funny story from the past and then brought something that represented it to give to them. There were so many funny stories, like raising chickens in our basement, dressing up as Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, mom's ear shattering sneezes, mom crawling out the bathroom window. There were a bunch of others too, I just can't remember them all, but we were laughing so hard. Then after that, we gave my parents a present that we had all pitched in on, we are sending them to go and see Les Mis down at Tuacahn. They seemed excted about it, and I can't wait to hear how it goes. It was such a fun weekend. I think the funniest thing that happened was when my mom and dad had an indian leg wrestle. My mom is unbeatable! All of us kids were able to be there except for Katie, but she came on Sunday to spend time with my parents, so I was excited about that. Well, once again, mom and dad, Happy 6oth birthday!

Giddy'up Cowboy

Jace loved the cowboy hat and horse that Dreyton made at preschool. It entertained him for days. He galloped around the house yelling "Giddy'up Cowboy!"

Dreyton's Graduation

Dreyton was soooo excited to graduate (even though he has one more year of preschool), until we got there and he saw how many people would be watching him. There were 60 kids graduating, so you can imagine how many family member were there to watch! He only freaked out for a little bit though and then sat in his chair with his cap pulled over his entire face for the majority of the program. When it was his turn to say his line in the program, he did so good though! I was sooo proud of him! I am such a nerd and watching him made me get all teary eyed. I was so glad that he had his best friend there with him for support. Those two are inseperable. He lives next door to us and are in the same pre-school , swim class and primary class. You'd think they'd get sick of each other, but they never do. It is so fun!

All the kids played "Mary had a little lamb" on their recorders. I don't think we would have known what they were playing if the teacher hadn't of told us. It was so cute to watch! Dreyton was so excited when he received his diploma. Enlarge the second picture and look at the name on the chair next to Dreyton. Yes....the kid that sits in that chair is actually named "T-ball". No joke! Me and Dustin were wondering if the parents are going to change his name as he gets older to things like "Babe Ruth" or "City League".

Another picture of Dreyton and his best buddy!

Bat Boy

Dreyton thinks he is pretty cool stuff being the bat boy for Dustin's softball team. I think he looks pretty cute out there!
Jace is just happy being on the other side of the fence, finding rocks to throw at his brother and bugs on the ground to kill.

Another great Jace face...

Well, Mel, you always say that Jace has the funniest looks on his face in pictures, so here is another one for you. Grandma Larsen gave Jace a Superman shirt that even has a cape hooked on to the back of it. Jace thinks it is the coolest thing in the world! Everytime he wears it he puts on his 'tough' face, like the one in the top picture, and 'flies' around the house making flying noises.

Tooele Update

Well, life in Tooele has been pretty good to us. I don't really love the town but I sure love our neighborhood and all the great friends we have made!
Dreyton is getting ready to graduate from pre-school. Well.... he still has another year of it, so he'll have another pre-school graduation next year, but it is still sad for me. He misses the kindergarten cut-off by one day, and I am really happy about that. I'm not ready to let him grow up and leave me. He kept telling me he didn't want to go to kindergarten and said he was going to pretend to be sick every day so he didn't have to go, so he was pretty excited to have another year in pre-school, too. I am excited to see him at his graduation though. All the kids are putting on a little program, and they each have a part to say in it, and then they are playing a song on their recorders. It is going to be so funny. I'm not sure about the protocol on inviting people to a pre-school gratuation, so if you are reading this, and want to come, you are more than welcome to! It is on Wednesday at 6:30.
Jace is growing up fast, too. He is at such a fun age! Well, most days anyway. He is at the age where every single day he is surprising us with new words and new tricks. He is also at the age where most of the day is spent saying "I do it!!". He doesn't want help doing anything and thinks he is such a big boy.
The two boys are the best of friends and the worst of enemies. When they fight, it is an all out punching and wrestling match, but when they get along it is wonderful! I love the days that they get along so much that it is hard for me to not follow them around with a camera taking pictures and making myself remember those moments. I love when they can make each other laugh. I don't know if there is anything better than to listen to little kids laughing. I love it!!
Dustin has been keeping himself busy at work. He also is loving playing softball. He is on a pretty good team which makes it even funner for him. Dreyton is the bat boy and is loving it! He thinks he is pretty cool out there high-fiving all the guys when they come in and picking up eveyones equipment. He gets pretty worried about his dad though. Last night after Dustin slid into third base, Dreyton started screaming "Dad! Your leg is bleeding!! Dad! Look at your leg!" I think even the guys in the outfield could hear Dreyton screaming. When Jace saw the blood though, he just said "Awsome!".
As for me and my life, I sure can't think of anything exciting that I have done lately, but I stay busy by playing, teaching, refereeing, cleaning, washing, entertaining, babysitting, cooking, fixing, loving, hugging, yelling, and everything else you can think of.
Well, that is the latest update from Tooele. Not a whole lot going on, but with the luck we have, that is a good thing!

Dreyton wanted to have fun with my makeup, so I put some whiskers on him. He got mad though and said he wanted different whiskers and glasses so he could look like what his dad looks like in the mornings. So, I drew
it on him, and then we put glasses and freckles on Jace to look like me. We were just having some fun and I was going to wash it right off. Jace had other plans though, he went and found a PERMENANT blue marker and drew all over his face. His new look lasted a good week! That blue marker was NOT coming off!

Dreyton's Field Trip

Dreyton, with his best freind Cameron.

I was able to on Dreyton's preschool field trip with him to a farm. It was so fun! I am taking advantage of these years that he is proud of me instead of embarrassed. Dretyon was able to ride a horse. He was so nervous and I don't think he took a breathe the whole time! When he was done, though, he was so proud of himself and hasn't stopped talking about it since. We ate homemade rolls, homemade butter and jam, fed some horses, and chased some pigs. Jace came with, and thought the pet dog was the best part of the trip.

Jace's Birthday

Here are some pic's of Jace's birthday celebration. He had so much fun. We had a BBQ with Corey, Dawn, Zach and Megan and then had dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Rowley. It was so fun to have visitors, and Jace loooved being spoiled with toys that didn't belong to Dreyton.
